Multivehicle pileup closes eastbound I-80 in Emery County

EMERY, Emery County — All eastbound lanes are closed on I-70 in Emery County, about 30 miles east of Fremont Junction, due to a vehicle pileup Friday afternoon.
“As many as seven vehicles (were) involved” in the crash just after 4 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol officials tweeted. “Injuries are reported in this crash and thankfully no one has died.”

The area will be closed for several hours, UHP officials said before 6:30 p.m.
No further information on the cause of the crash or the severity of the injuries has been released at this time.
