Man in hospital after alleged knife attack

Two men have been charged after another man was allegedly stabbed during a random and violent confrontation on the Gold Coast.
Police allege the victim, a 37-year-old Ballina man, was approached by two men just after 10pm on Friday on Surfers Paradise Esplanade near Cavill Ave.
The Ballina man was allegedly stabbed with a knife.
A Queensland Police spokesman said he suffered a stab wound to his chest, just under the left arm, and cuts to his neck.
Officers provided first aid before the man was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The two men – who police say are not known to the man – were located nearby and arrested.
One Riverview man, 36, was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm while armed/in company, wounding, possessing a knife in public and possessing dangerous drugs.
The other, a 29-year-old Macleay Island man, has been charged with possessing a knife in public, public nuisance and possessing drug utensils.
Both men will face Southport Magistrates Court later this year.
