TAYLORSVILLE — A man and woman were killed early Wednesday in a shooting in Taylorsville, police said.

About 5 a.m., police received the report of multiple gunshots in the area of 3600 W. 4700 South, said Taylorsville Police Sgt. Jake Hill. When officers arrived, they found a woman between the ages of 30 and 40 with multiple gunshot wounds. She was deceased.

“Initially, we also got a call of a vehicle that was shot. It had, the back window was damaged,” he said.

As officers were canvassing the area and talking to witnesses, about a block to the east around 3500 West, officers found a man with a gunshot wound who was also deceased. Police estimate his age at 30 years old.

Police do not yet know the identities of the man and woman who were killed, or whether they knew each other.

“But we do believe after talking with witnesses and gathering the evidence that we have, that the two people we have are the ones that were involved and there’s no outstanding suspect,” Hill said.
