Lindon teen dies after “altercation” between two groups of people at an area park

A 16-year-old boy has died after an “altercation” between two groups of people, Lindon Police said in a news conference on Tuesday.

The two groups of people met between 2-2:30 a.m. at Lindon View Park’s Murdock Trailhead on Monday, an official said. During that meeting, the 16-year-old boy sustained “traumatic injuries that resulted in his death” during an altercation. A Lindon Police spokesperson did not specify how many people were in the two groups.

On Tuesday, officers arrested another 16-year-old boy who was involved in the argument. The spokesperson said no physical weapons were used, and there is no danger to the public.

The victim’s name and cause of death have not been released. Anyone with further information on the altercation is asked to contact the Lindon Police Department at (801) 769-8600.
