1 killed, 1 suffered ‘life-threatening’ injuries in separate crashes in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — One person was killed and one was seriously injured late Tuesday in two separate crashes in Salt Lake City, police said.
About 9:15 p.m., a car collided with a motorcycle at 1440 S. Main Street, police said. The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.
In the second crash, a skateboarder was hit by a car near 300 South and 700 East at 9:46 p.m. and died at a hospital, police said.
Traffic in both areas was affected for several hours into early Wednesday.
